I wish I could say I've had some deep awakening within my soul, some profound deeper knowledge integrated into my being, some new passionate view on life, but alas, this semester of college has yielded none of this. As I sit here preparing to take my last final within the next 10 hours and packing up so I can be on the road tomorrow by 1, I reminisce on the past 4 months, and I can recall very little.

This semester has flown by at warp speed. I have met many people, from many places with various ways of looking at life. I have a freaking awesome roommate in Kirk and me him are getting along great. I have taken 17 hours of classes and for sure have made an "A" in 3 of them and probably have an "A" in the other 3 except for Calculus (Curse you Martha Stewart!!!). But, I don't feel different, I was expecting some awesome experiences, which I have received, but I don't feel they have altered the way I live my life.

I have also came to the conclusion that friendships don't mean much in college, or at least not what they meant in high school. Most of the people I have meet so far I barely see outside of class. I do get to on rare occasions have very stimulating discussions with people and that is always a very nice occurrence. I find small talk disgusting but I find myself using it more and more because I can't find the deep, stimulating conversations I seek. Maybe next semester I should join some "clubs" or something like that to get around to meet more people.

Well, 1 down and probably 7-9 to go. If they all fly by this fast I'm going to be 23 before I know it looking for a job, that’s a scary thought. As I glided along at such a fast pace and yet didn't realize it, I start to wonder if I missed the opportunities to stop and smell the proverbial roses of life. A man which has earned more respect from me than any other within the last 4 months has been Professor Glenn Conner, my Meteorology teacher. He set an objective for us to learn about Meteorology and by God we did, even though I knew a lot to begin with, I still learned and lot and really treasure my greater understanding of the weather. But during our last day of class he went philosophical on us, and I found has statement to be profound yet simplistic. He brought up the statement that I just used, "Stop and smell the roses," but he said how can people stop and smell the roses if they don't even know they are there. He went on to talk about his love of reading and keeping your passion and love for learning alive. He spoke of children, being the fearless bold explorers of our time. He gave example of turning a kid loose near a stream and they return with a pebble. The child is proud of its discovery and shows it off and we pass it off as "Oh that's nice." We might not "Give a damn" about it, but that kid sure does. Its because they found it, they learned from it and they grew from the experience. These are the real roses in life Professor Conner went on to explain.

I had a moment like that this semester, in calculus of all places, when someone finally showed me exactly how and why the distance formula worked. I went through 13 years of public schooling without being taught how or why it worked, just taught to use it when I encountered it. I was so surprised by this small discovery, this many epiphany, sure no one else in the world cared, but to me it was a really incredible discovery. So I know feel this overwhelming feeling of disappointment... how many of these great roses have I let slip by me in these 4 months. What happened to enjoying learning new things, what happened to exploring and being bold? My wish for myself and you in the New Year is that you take time to look for these rose's in life, and find joy in learning new things.

And now I shall finish packing and put my mighty Alien to sleep until I shall return to my home in London. I have 3 weeks to retreat back into my old life, 3 ways to enjoy the company of the people I truly love. 3 Weeks to rest and prepare for 4 more months of college. This is my December, This is my time of year, and I give it all away, just to have somewhere to go to, give it all away, to have someone to come home to. So if I don't post again until I return to this dorm room at WKU I wish you all happy holidays and a great new year.

And this is how the semester ends, not with a bang, but a whimper.

WE HAVE A PULSE!!!

The reports of my retirement from the world of blogging are far exaggerated... I just didn't have anything to blog about, but alas I blog anyway.

Well Kamen Rider Blade 40 and 41 came out today and was truely awesome, finally all 4 riders fighting together again even if just for a little while.

Jay-Z vs. Linkin Park wasn't that great, Numb/Encore was the only song I liked, so I will wait for LP's new studio album whenever that may be...

And finally, my rant for the night... Children’s TV is not what it use to be. Back in the day we had awesome shows like: Ghostbusters, GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles etc, etc. Have you thought about how much children’s TV sucks now a day. We use to have real hero's, characters kids could look up to and say, "Man I want do good, I wanna be like "Insert Late 80's- Early 90's Hero". Now we have characters like Bob the builder, Dora the Explorer, Blue (the bitch), etc. etc. These characters might help develop children’s cognitive skills but they don't give them heroes, they don't give them something to aspire to be or look up too. I just think that kids nowadays are really missing out of some of the best things a lot of people my age had during our childhood and I think they are getting a total crap replacement thanks to "Soccer Moms" everywhere. So when people my age start having kids and their kids are lacking a sense of right and wrong, I say part of the blame definitely goes to the "Soccer Moms" of our generation. People with argue, parents have to also take responsibility, and I agree... but TV has become a huge influence on kids, but I'm done ranting about this bull. Here’s to everyone that’s stills gets a spark of joy in their heart every time they hear a childhood cartoon theme song they loved, don't ever let the great memories and influences we had from those shows fade into the darkness of "Adulthood."

Blah Blah Blah!!!

Morning Blog fans, not much to say today cause I'm in a horrible mood, slightly on edge and kinda down right now... but don't worry a new homestar runner Strongbad email will cheer everyone up... go to homestar's website to view it.

I might add more to this later.

Stupidity in People

Just a quick note for tonight since I'm kinda busy studying for a test, Linkin Park vs Jay-z is coming up, and TV-Nihon put out a new episode of Kamen Rider Blade :D!!!

So I'm talking to my friend Britany back home and I am reminded on how much people in general are stupid. A person on their own might be smart, but whenever you get a group of people together they just seem to lose are sense of themselves and join together and act on nothing but raw emotion. Whether it be politics, religion or daily school life people are so easily sucked into a part of the group and mindlessly follows its lead. Whether its harassing people, making rash decisions, or just anything else that might harm others, people as a whole are just stupid. So before you go out burning flags or flogging the village reject with a group fo people, step back, take a deep look inside and see if you are really okay with doing that without even thinking about why your doing it or the person or group your doing it to.

*Also this person had a Brain Fart yesterday because tomorrow is Nov. 10 not today :(... so one more day till Jay-Z vs. Linkin Park.*

Random Thoughts for the day

Nothing profound to say today but I thought I would let everyone know that there will be 3 new episodes of Red Vs. Blue in the next 3 days. For anyone that hasn't watched it I highly recommend because it is freaking hilarious.

In related news Homestar got pWn3d by a Radio Flyer wagon rip-off... for more on this developing story check out the latest Strongbad email @ Homestarrunner's website which you can access from the links.

This just in from the weather desk... Cloudy with a chance of the new Linkin Park/Jay-Z album entitled Collision Course not sucking if Numb/Encore is any indication of how the album sounds. Collision Course is due out in stores on Nov. 30, but you can check out the ultimate experiment in mix and match from MTV's Ultimate Mash-Ups on tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 10 at 10:30 PM EST/ 9:30 for me in CST.

And finally to tonight’s talking points. I was sitting in Geology class today and the professor was lecturing about renewable energy resources when BAMM!!!... Or I should say RING-RING, a cell phone went off. Now this professor hates cell phones going off in class which I can understand, but it made me try to think back to a day when people didn't have cell phones. Why all the sudden popularity in cell phones, why do people want to have a phone with them 24/7. I can understand it for emergencies but why the heck does everyone have them out all the time. Seriously go to a restaurant, a mall, a college campus and just pick a spot to sit down in to watch traffic go by. Sit there for about 30 minutes during a busy period and just watch how many people are talking on cell phones; its scary how many people are carrying them. I myself own one... but usually I leave it in the dorm room during the day. Now I am getting a new one at Christmas with a better plan than what I have now, but honestly I don't use it that often. Mom uses it to keep in touch with me and so do a few other people but in my entire year of owning one last month was the first month when I used more than a 100 of my 200 minute plan. So if someone could explain what the deal with cell phones is, please feel free to enlighten me.

Not the beginning of my insanity... just the manifestation

Alright, Cait has had her fun voicing her opinion online, so I think I will have mine. Welcome to my personal Blog. I'm kinda new at this and it’s probably going to take a while to get going, nor will I be overall active with it, but hey it should be fun.

Tonight my first blog will be about the usefulness of duct tape. For the unenlightened... this stuff fixes EVERYTHING. When a NASCAR stock car gets damaged, they slap some duct tape on it; when my Grandpa's sink sprung a leak, he ducted it an the patch held for 3 years; in the absolutely brilliant cartoon Megas: XLR, they repaired their giant robots reactor with duct tape. I just in the last 5 minutes repaired a sandal that was beginning to rip at the strap with duct tape *It was camouflage for those wondering*. So that’s all for today kiddies... I will post up some of my favorite links and look forward to seeing what people think of my thoughts.
